Maynard Nexsen is pleased to announce that Christin Carey has joined the firm as a Shareholder in its Health Care & Life Sciences Practice Group, bringing more than a decade of experience advising life sciences and technology companies on complex regulatory, compliance, and product development matters.
Christin focuses her practice on U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulation of medical devices, digital health technologies, software-based interventions, and pharmaceutical products. She advises clients across the full product lifecycle—from premarket regulatory strategy and clinical study design to postmarket compliance and enforcement response—helping companies navigate evolving regulatory frameworks while advancing commercialization goals.
Drawing on experience in both private practice and in-house roles, Christin provides practical, business-minded counsel to clients operating in rapidly changing and often ambiguous regulatory environments. Her work includes FDA regulatory strategy for medical devices and digital health technologies; clinical decision support (CDS) software classification and exemption analysis under the 21st Century Cures Act; healthcare marketing and advertising compliance; artificial intelligence and data privacy compliance; and drug regulatory matters, including ANDA and 505(b)(2) strategies and Orange Book patent listings.
Prior to joining Maynard Nexsen, Christin served as Senior Corporate Counsel at Amazon, where she was embedded across Amazon Health Services, including Amazon Pharmacy, Amazon One Medical, and Amazon’s confidential moonshot initiatives. In that role, she served as product counsel for a novel premarket medical device developed in-house and advised cross-functional teams on FDA requirements, clinical strategy, and commercialization planning from early development through launch. She also supported AI initiatives involving protected and identifiable health information and played a key role in the development and launch of Health AI, the largest real-world rollout of agentic AI in the regulated health care sector.

Known for her collaborative approach and intellectual curiosity, Christin works closely with engineering, clinical, and business teams to develop advice that is practical, implementable, and forward-looking. She thrives on connecting ideas across disciplines to help clients manage risk while bringing innovative products to market.
Christin earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from American University Washington College of Law, where she served as a staff member of the Administrative Law Review. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University.
