Charleston's nearly 110-year-old menswear retailer M. Dumas and Sons is expanding its King Street footprint, relocating its Johnnie-O by M. Dumas and Sons store from The Shops at Charleston Place to 295 King St.
Opening this fall directly across from the M. Dumas and Sons flagship, the new 2,500-square-foot store will more than double the size of the current Johnnie-O location and establish Dumas storefronts at three consecutive King Street addresses: 294, 295 and 296.
“Johnnie-O's comfortable, relaxed coastal style has always been a natural fit for our M. Dumas & Sons customers, so opening the doors of this new space directly across from our flagship feels right,” said Gary Flynn, CEO and co-owner of Dumas. “We're thrilled to expand our footprint on King Street and, with that, offer an even more complete experience for both our longtime customers and new faces.”
The expanded Johnnie-O by M. Dumas and Sons store will offer a broader inventory, including women's apparel for the first time and more lifestyle-focused merchandise. The same team that serves customers at the current location, which opened in 2023, will make the move to 295 King St.
