Textures, a luxury hardwood company, has opened a 1,620-square-foot, first-to-market showroom in the Charleston Design District at Navy Yard Charleston. Located on the ground floor of Storehouse Nine, Textures’ debut marks the first new trade-focused brand to launch in the District since it was announced earlier this spring.
Textures began as a small shop based in East Nashville, Tennessee, in 2004, and as time passed, founder Andrew Denny recognized a hole in the market and began creating craft-made, small-batch products. Today, Textures is situated within the Nashville Design Collective and committed to offering clients and designers the finest quality wood finishes, expertly made through a proprietary manufacturing process. The company's approach to custom design in both residential and commercial spaces allows each project to reflect the unique vision of its creators while maintaining a foundation of timeless tones and textures.
"As a native South Carolinian, opening our showroom in Charleston feels deeply personal. Textures has always been about celebrating beauty, and Charleston—rich in history, design, and soul—is a place that truly embodies that,” said Andrew Denny, founder of Textures. “From the charm of its historic homes to the thoughtful design of new spaces, this City shares our love for craftsmanship and detail. We're honored to join this vibrant community and excited for the collaborations ahead."
Textures is making its entry into Charleston through a strategic partnership with Encore Lumber, a well-established local business with deep roots in the community. This collaboration combines Textures' expertise in custom hardwood products with Encore Lumber’s trusted local presence in reclaimed lumber and millwork, fostering a dynamic space for creativity and collaboration.
The Charleston showroom serves as a space where designers, architects, and homeowners can explore Textures’ full range of paneling, architectural millwork, and premium wood flooring products, including the award-winning Jeffrey Dungan Architectural Collection. It is open to the public, with services and pricing tailored to industry professionals, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Textures joins beloved and established Charleston brands such as The Urban Electric Co., Fritz Porter, Benjamin Paul Studio, Celadon Home, and Smithey Ironware Company in the District. A collection of local design and maker tenants have also set up shop within the District’s Maker Studios, including Floral Studies, Middleton Made Knives, and Kate McDonald Bridal. This fall Schumacher and Kravet, which will soon be next-door neighbors with Textures in both Nashville and Charleston, are expected to open in the District.
