Lowcountry Food Bank (LCFB) today announced that two new Board members have joined its Board of Directors: Mavis Huger and Dan Bailey.
The LCFB Board is comprised of community leaders who are responsible for good stewardship of LCFB, a commitment to the LCFB mission, managing policies and bylaws, identifying key areas of strengths and opportunities for Board development and understanding and supporting the fundraising needs of the organization.
"I look forward to working with our newest Board members as we move forward our mission to unite our community in pursuit of equitable, dignified, and consistent access to food," said Nick Osborne, LCFB President and CEO. "Each of them brings expertise, new opportunity for collaboration, and innovation to serve our neighbors who face food insecurity."
Mavis Huger is Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary at N. Charleston-based Ingevity Corporation (NYSE: NGVT), a global specialty chemicals and materials company that manufactures products that purify, protect, and enhance the world around us. Ms. Huger is responsible for corporate governance, security compliance, and global trade compliance. Prior to joining Ingevity, Ms. Huger served as Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Ethics Officer of Polypore International, Inc. a filtration technology company with operations in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Prior to Polypore, Ms. Huger worked as an Associate in the New York office of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP. She received a B.A. from the University of Maryland and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
Dan Bailey, CPA, is a principal at Elliot Davis. Dan has over 10 years of combined experience in public accounting and private industry. In his Senior Manager role, he provides comprehensive assurance and advisory services with a focus on manufacturing and distribution, construction, real estate, and employee benefit plan industries. He currently serves on the firm’s Manufacturing and Distribution and Employee Benefit Plans specialty groups. Prior to joining Elliott Davis, Dan served as Corporate Controller for an international manufacturing company with subsidiaries in Germany, Netherlands, and France, and as CFO and Controller for a fast-growing apparel design and distribution company. Dan earned a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Maryland. He is affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants, and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.
Diana Ross-Jackson has served her board term and is now an outgoing board member. "I want to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to Ms. Ross-Jackson for her outstanding leadership and dedication to our mission," Osborne said.
