The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will conduct overnight lane closures on the Ashley River Bridge (U.S. 17) beginning Thursday, Aug. 20, for bridge work.
The closures are scheduled to begin at 11 p.m. Thursday and continue through 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21. During the work window, drivers should expect intermittent full traffic stoppages lasting 10 to 15 minutes.
According to SCDOT, the work is necessary to open the bridge deck and install a new auxiliary drive component.
Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes during the overnight work and expect brief, intermittent delays as crews conduct full traffic stoppages.
The work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled if conditions do not allow.
