The Landon Strong Foundation has announced its partnership with Tidal Wave Auto Spa for the company’s 18th annual Charity Day event, to be held Friday, Sept. 18. As part of Tidal Wave’s commitment to giving back, the company will donate 100% of wash proceeds from the one-day event to local charities and nonprofit organizations.
The Landon Strong Foundation provides financial and faith-based support to families facing childhood cancer. By helping ease everyday burdens such as groceries, household expenses and other necessities, the foundation aims to allow families to focus more of their energy on their child and treatment.
The Landon Strong Foundation will partner with Tidal Wave Auto Spa’s Summerville location at 201 Grandview Drive for this year’s event. The foundation was born from the heart and vision of Landon, an 8-year-old cancer patient who dreamed of helping other children and families facing the same battle. Although Landon died on Dec. 3, 2020, his compassion and vision live on through the foundation and its mission of supporting families impacted by childhood cancer.
The Landon Strong Foundation will receive 50% of the proceeds raised at the Summerville location on Sept. 18. The remaining 50% will go to Tidal Wave’s corporate partners: Annandale Village, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing life assistance to adults with developmental disabilities, and The Joseph Sams School, a nonprofit organization providing educational and therapeutic support for children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The public is invited to visit Tidal Wave Auto Spa at 201 Grandview Drive in Summerville on Friday, Sept. 18, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for a car wash supporting the Landon Strong Foundation. No appointment is needed.
Over the event’s 17-year history, Tidal Wave has donated more than $2.8 million to charitable organizations, with $864,075 raised during last year’s event. This year marks the company’s 18th annual Charity Day, with 319 participating locations across 30 states.
Tidal Wave Auto Spa was recognized as a Champion of Charity by Professional Carwashing & Detailing. Beyond its annual Charity Day event, the company also gives back throughout the year through its fundraising program, which has helped raise more than $5 million for local schools, organizations, churches, civic groups and other causes.
