The Junior League of Charleston (JLC) a women’s leadership organization devoted to training the next generation of female leaders, will present “21st Century Women in Civic Leadership” in partnership with South Carolina Women in Leadership and The League of Women Voters of Charleston on Wednesday, October 9, at Robins Construction Group Event Hall, 4800 Park Cir, North Charleston, SC 29405. This two-hour panel, moderated by Rita Atkins, will feature outstanding community members and civil leaders sharing their insight on how women can get involved in politics. The event is free and open to the public.
“We invite our entire community to join us for an inspiring discussion about how all of us can make an impact here in Charleston and beyond,” states Amy Jenkins, Executive Director of the JLC.
This Women’s Leadership Series panel event will present a wholistic perspective on engagement, representation, and reigniting the spirt of women in politics and public service. Our esteemed civic leader panelists include Wendy Helms, Sara Ballard, Kristi Harrington, Dr. Lynn Ford and Chappelle Brooms Stevenson. These women will share their insight into the vital role strong women leaders can play in local and state politics, and beyond. There will be a social/networking event starting at 5:30 p.m. for attendees to network prior to the panel at 6:30 p.m.
