The Town of James Island will break ground on the new James Island Arts and Community Center on Thursday, April 23, at 11 a.m. The ceremony will be held at 1144 Dills Bluff Road and is open to the public.
The 10,000-square-foot project will include three buildings and a sustainable outdoor garden. Planned amenities include an auditorium for concerts and performances, a public-access business center with free Wi-Fi and computers, and a multipurpose room for art classes and community events. The center will also support after-school programs and tutoring services for local families.
The project is expected to be completed by May 2027. Refreshments will be provided at Town Hall following the ceremony.
