Brookgreen Gardens is home to the largest and most comprehensive collection of American figurative sculpture in the country, and this month, one of Brookgreen Gardens' most iconic and beloved sculptures, The Fighting Stallions, will undergo an extensive cleaning process to protect its surface from harmful pollutants.
Created by Brookgreen co-founder Anna Hyatt Huntington, this sculpture stands at the Garden’s entrance. It will remain on display throughout the restoration. This transformative effort, will be led by seasoned conservator Ted Monnich, who brings 30 years of experience and a passion for history, metalworking and metallurgy to this large-scale project at Brookgreen.
