The Horry County School District on Friday filed litigation in the Federal Social Media Multi-District Litigation (MDL) lawsuit against Meta (Facebook's parent company), Google, TikTok, and Snapchat to recover funds for the district and student programs. The Mount Pleasant-based Motley Rice law firm filed the paperwork in U.S. District Court for Northern California on Friday.
The lawsuit cites injuries including public nuisance and negligence related to the impact of social media addiction in adolescents. You can read the filing here.
