WALTERBORO, S.C. – HCA Healthcare Colleton Hospital is excited to welcome Dr. Robert Perez, a board-certified, fellowship-trained robot-assisted and minimally invasive general surgeon, to HCA Healthcare Colleton Surgical Specialists.
Based at HCA Healthcare Summerville Surgical Specialists, Dr. Perez will begin providing additional surgical care in Walterboro on August 18. He will join Dr. Karl Stiegler and nurse practitioner Shannon Salyers at the practice.
With more than 10 years of experience, Dr. Perez has performed thousands of robotic procedures and teaches courses nationally on robot-assisted and minimally invasive surgery. He specializes in robot-assisted hernia repair, ranging from umbilical and inguinal hernias to complex and revisional abdominal wall reconstruction. He also offers minimally invasive surgical options for gallstones, right upper quadrant pain, and reflux/GERD. These advanced minimally invasive techniques can help patients recover with less pain and return more quickly to their normal daily activities, including exercise.
