Hollywood, SC - Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary is asking for the public’s help after multiple puppies were found abandoned Saturday night along a busy roadside near the sanctuary.
Volunteers and staff searched the area and located four puppies, only three of which were alive. One had already been struck by a vehicle and killed. Later that night, a good Samaritan discovered a puppy wandering near the road, took it in overnight, and brought it safely to the sanctuary the following morning.
On Sunday morning, Hallie Hill staff found two additional puppies while continuing to search the roadside area.
In total, seven puppies were dumped, scattered and left exposed to freezing temperatures and traffic.
“This was not simple abandonment. This was cruel, reckless and deadly,” Hallie Hill representatives said. “Whoever did this caused at least one death.”
Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary is urging anyone with information about who may have abandoned the puppies to contact the organization. Tips may remain confidential. The sanctuary is seeking community assistance to help hold the responsible party accountable.
The surviving puppies are currently receiving medical treatment and care at Hallie Hill and will be made available for adoption once cleared by veterinary staff.
