For 51 years, CDBG has provided local communities with essential funds to address affordable housing and community and economic development needs. The CDBG program provides funding to more than 1,200 local governments, enabling them to create specialized initiatives that improve their communities' physical, economic, and social conditions. Every dollar of CDBG leverages four dollars in other funding, bringing additional vital resources to communities.
The HOME program helps communities increase access to affordable housing for low-income households. The program grants over 650 participating jurisdictions the ability to create safe, decent, and affordable housing in communities nationwide.
Both programs are administered locally by the Charleston County Community Development and Revitalization Department.
