In consideration of the historic catastrophic flooding predicted from Hurricane Debby, Dorchester County announces the following closures:
Dorchester County Administrative Offices and Dorchester County Courts
All Dorchester County Administrative Offices and Dorchester County Courts will be closed Tuesday, August 6, 2024, through Thursday, August 8, 2024. The County plans to reopen on Friday, August 9, 2024.*
Dorchester County Convenience Sites
All Dorchester County Convenience Sites will close at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 5 and will stay closed through Thursday, August 8, 2024.
As long as site conditions allow, Convenience Sites will reopen on Friday, August 9, following their regular schedules.

Dorchester County Parks
All Dorchester County Parks will close at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024, through Thursday, August 8, 2024. Parks will plan to reopen on Friday, August 9, 2024, pending safety assessments to ensure suitable conditions for public use.

Dorchester County Public Libraries
All Dorchester County Public Libraries will close at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024, through Thursday, August 8, 2024. All Dorchester County Libraries will plan to reopen on Friday, August 9. 2024.
** Dorchester County Damage Assessment Teams are prepared to go out into the field on Thursday, August 8, and a decision will be made if County Government will reopen on Friday, August 9. We will keep you informed as the situation evolves.
