The College of Charleston has again been named “one of the best and most interesting colleges” in the country by the Fiske Guide to Colleges. Compiled by former New York Times education editor Edward B. Fiske, the 2025 edition of the guide profiles over 350 colleges and universities in the U.S., Canada and Great Britain.
The guide praises the College as the finest public liberal arts and sciences institution in South Carolina.
“Whether sampling the traditional Lowcountry cuisine or delving into the wide range of courses offered at this strong liberal arts and sciences institution,” the guide states, “students at the College of Charleston know they are getting a solid education based on creative expression, intellectual freedom and hands-on learning experiences.”
The 2025 edition includes a profile of the College with various facts, statistics and demographical information and highlights of academic programs and experiential learning opportunities.
Colleges featured in this year’s guide were selected with several broad principles in mind, including academic ratings, price category and quality of student life on campus.
This is the 20th year in a row the College of Charleston has been featured in the Fiske Guide to Colleges.
