The Charleston County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) is now accepting applications for the 2025 – 2027 Community Representative term. The CJCC is seeking representation from the following communities to serve:
- Local Faith Community
- Local Survivor of Crime Community
- Local Previously Incarcerated Community
“As a Community Representative, I am driven by my belief in the importance of second chances, the inherent potential in every individual, and the ability to transform lives. Together, we strive to build a brighter and more equitable future for everyone,” stated Patsy Gardner, Community Representative, when asked why she serves.
Community Representatives play a vital role in shaping the criminal justice system in Charleston County by participating in dedicated workgroups that research, analyze, and discuss data and policy. These workgroups foster collaboration between community members and local decision-makers, working together to create a more effective, fair, and just system. By serving in this role, Community Representatives gain a deeper understanding of the criminal justice system.
The 2025–2027 Community Representative application is due to the CJCC by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025. To learn more or to apply, visit bit.ly/30TIqV6.
