The City of Charleston provided the following info regarding tomorrow's expected severe weather:
"Residents, please be aware that the Charleston area is expected to experience severe weather tomorrow morning, which may impact your day. Strong winds, and the potential for hail and tornadoes are possible. Here are the key weather updates:
- By daybreak, wind gusts will reach 30-35 mph.
- Around 9:00 a.m., gusts will increase to 40-45 mph, with winds near 60 mph on bridges, creating hazardous travel conditions.
- Damaging winds (up to 70 mph) are possible between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
- There is a potential for tornadoes and hail.
Things to Keep in Mind:
- Bridges may be closed depending on wind strength, causing traffic delays. If possible, stay home and avoid unnecessary travel.
- Trash and garbage collection will proceed as scheduled until conditions become unsafe. If any routes are not completed, collections will resume on Thursday morning.
