The City of Charleston has launched a webpage to connect residents affected by the recent fire at Middleton Cove Apartments in West Ashley with donation drop-off locations, gift card information, and fundraising pages set up to support displaced families.
The fire, which occurred early Sunday morning, displaced several families in the community. The webpage consolidates information on where to donate gift cards and new, unopened personal care items, along with links to GoFundMe pages for individuals affected.
"When something like this happens to our neighbors, we want to make it as easy as possible for people to step up and help. That's what our community does best," said Mayor William Cogswell.
