The Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System will host its annual Veterans Day Parade on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. in downtown Charleston. The event will feature historic military vehicles, motorcycle groups and floats from veterans service organizations.
Opening remarks and a performance of the national anthem will begin at 12:30 p.m. This year’s parade grand marshal is U.S. Navy veteran Steven McFann.
Now in its 25th year, the parade is coordinated by the Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System in partnership with the City of Charleston.
The parade will kick off at the corner of Market and East Bay streets with a welcome address from Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System Director and CEO Scott Isaacks, followed by the national anthem.
Parade Route:
- Begins at Concord and Market streets
- Continues west on Market Street to East Bay Street
- Proceeds south on East Bay Street to Broad Street
- Continues west on Broad Street
- Ends at Colonial Lake
