The Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System along with the South Carolina Patriot Guard Riders will honor U.S. Navy Veteran HM3 Robert Winston Bennett with a dignified procession escorting his remains to Beaufort National Cemetery, Friday, Feb. 28, 2025. Participants wanting to pay their respects to HM3 Bennett can line up outside the medical center near Alpha Street from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. the day of the event.
HM3 Bennett, a Fleet Marine Force-qualified Corpsman, passed at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center on Jan. 2, 2025. With family unable to attend, his friend, Mrs. Katherine Wingate, arranged for his burial. A dedicated Sailor from a lineage of Naval service, Bennett was highly trained in field medicine, tactical vehicle operations, and multiple weapons systems.
HM3 Bennett was an avid motorcyclist and athlete. Though his friendship with Mrs. Wingate was brief, she deeply admired him. His dedication and service will be honored by the Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System and those standing in his place.
