Personal finance website WalletHub today released a report on 2025’s Best Places for Summer Jobs and Charleston was named the 18th best city in the country. This is a big drop from last year's rankings.
To help job seekers find the best summer employment opportunities, WalletHub compared more than 180 markets in the U.S. across 21 key metrics. The data set ranges from the median income of part-time workers to the availability of summer jobs to the commuter-friendliness of jobs.
Finding a Summer Job in Charleston (1=Best; 91=Avg.):

- 7th – Summer Jobs per Capita
- 52nd – Internships per Capita
- 15th – Median Income of Part-Time Workers (Adjusted for Cost of Living)
- 62nd – % of Insured Part-Time Workers
