Charleston County Community Development and Revitalization will begin accepting applications for the Well, Septic Tank, and Connection Program on August 10, 2026.
The program assists eligible Charleston County residents who need repairs or improvements to private wells and septic systems or financial assistance connecting their homes to available public water or sewer service.
Eligible activities may include:
- Repair or replacement of failing private wells
- Repair or replacement of failing septic systems
- Well or septic system maintenance necessary to address health and safety concerns
- Assistance with eligible public water or sewer connection costs
“Access to safe and reliable water and wastewater systems is essential to the health and stability of our communities,” said LoElla Smalls, Director of Charleston County Community Development and Revitalization. “This program helps eligible residents address critical infrastructure needs that may otherwise be financially out of reach.”
Assistance is available to eligible owner-occupied households located within Charleston County. Applicants must meet program requirements, including household income eligibility, property ownership, and documentation of the well, septic, water, or sewer need.
Funding is limited, and applications will be reviewed in accordance with program eligibility requirements and the availability of funds.
Applications will be available beginning August 10, 2026.
