Charleston Center, in partnership with FAVOR Lowcountry, will host a “One Dose, Many Lives” Naloxone Awareness Day event on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 12 to 2 p.m. at 3685 Rivers Avenue. The event will raise awareness of the lifesaving power of Naloxone and educate the public on signs of overdose and how to administer Naloxone effectively.
Additionally, the event will feature powerful stories from individuals whose lives have been saved by Naloxone and underscore the crucial role that community partnerships play in harm reduction and recovery support.
Charleston Center, FAVOR Lowcountry, and many more service providers, first responders, advocates, and community organizations will be present with helpful resources throughout the event.
“Our mission of harm reduction and overdose prevention starts with the people we serve. Informing our community about the risks of opioid overdose and how to use Naloxone continues to save lives every day, and we are deeply grateful to the community organizations that help us carry that mission forward,” said Charleston Center Director Dr. Chanda Funcell. “We hope this event—and others like it—creates lasting ripples of awareness, empowering individuals and saving lives throughout our community.”
National Naloxone Awareness Day was first observed in 2023 and is recognized annually on June 6 to increase public awareness and access to Naloxone as a critical tool to prevent fatal overdoses.
