The Center for Heirs’ Property (CHP) will host the 15th Annual Danielle Hope Watson Commitment to Justice Award Reception on Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston.
This year’s event will honor Anton Gunn (pictured), a nationally recognized leadership expert, former South Carolina legislator, former senior advisor to President Barack Obama, and former executive at MUSC Health. Gunn will receive the Danielle Hope Watson Commitment to Justice Award in recognition of his career advancing leadership, opportunity and community impact.
Former South Carolina Senator Mia McLeod will deliver the evening’s keynote remarks. The program will also feature Angela Singleton, a landowner from the historic Ten Mile community in Awendaw, who will share her family’s experience protecting land and legacy and the role CHP has played in that journey, CHP CEO Dr. Jennie L. Stephens, and CHP Board Chair James (Jim) D. Myrick, Esq.
The annual event brings together community leaders, advocates, supporters and partners to recognize individuals whose work reflects a commitment to justice while highlighting CHP’s mission to help families protect heirs’ property, secure clear title, build generational wealth and preserve family land.
