Camp Happy Days (CHD) is calling for volunteers (ages 19+) to help create a life-changing experience for children battling cancer and their siblings. The 2025 week-long overnight camp will take place June 28 – July 5 at Camp Bob Cooper, bringing together 200 campers for a week of fun, friendship, and therapeutic activities.
Each year, 150-180 volunteers are needed to make camp possible. Volunteers can serve as cabin counselors, working directly with campers, or assist with program areas in activities like arts & crafts, water sports, woodworking, and more. Applications are open until May 30, and all volunteers must pass a background check and complete child protection training.
"After my cancer diagnosis in 2008, Camp Happy Days became a place where I could escape my illness and just be a kid," said Cliff Beilke, former camper and current volunteer. "The friendships and team-building experiences were life-changing, inspiring me to return as a counselor in 2018. Now, I focus on creating a space where every child feels understood and empowered. Camp Happy Days isn’t just a camp—it’s a community that gave me hope, and I’m committed to paying that forward."
