MURRELLS INLET, S.C. - Brookgreen Gardens will host the National Sculpture Society’s 93rd Annual Awards Exhibition from August 8 through October 25 in the Hoy and Mize Galleries of the Rosen Gallery.
The National Sculpture Society’s Annual Awards Exhibition is recognized as the premier annual exhibition of American figurative sculpture. This year’s exhibition will feature 43 works by artists from across the country, with pieces created in bronze, marble, alabaster, terra cotta, wood, resin, stoneware, mixed media and more.
Featured works include Nimbus by Béla Bácsi, Lo Spretto Bianco by Serena Bates, Stargazer by Jeremy Bradshaw, Sanitation Worker by J. Clayton Bright, Missy by Manuelita Brown, Askance by Bob Clyatt, Makin’ a New Song for You – Big Al Anderson by LeaAnn Cogswell, Paranoia Strikes Deep by Walter Matia, Frederick Douglass by John Tenney, The Apple Eater by Kathe Umlauf and The Missing Piece by Eva-Maria Wohn, among others.
“Brookgreen Gardens has a long and meaningful connection to American figurative sculpture and the National Sculpture Society going back to our founders, Anna Hyatt Huntington and Archer Huntington. Throughout the exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite work to receive the People’s Choice Award, which will be announced at the conclusion of the show. The National Sculpture Society will also present 17 awards as part of the annual exhibition.
The National Sculpture Society’s 93rd Annual Awards Exhibition is included with Gardens admission.
