Brookgreen Gardens, a 9,127-acre National Historic Landmark in Murrells Inlet, has recently been recognized as one of the 10 Best Sculpture Parks in the U.S., ranking No. 3 in the USA Today 10Best Reader’s Choice Awards. Nominated by a panel of experts and voted on by readers, this recognition highlights Brookgreen’s collection of American figurative sculpture – the largest and most comprehensive in the country – made up of over 2,000 works by 430 artists displayed in a stunning garden setting, adorned with year-round blooms and centuries-old live oaks.

In addition to its renowned sculpture collection, Brookgreen’s indoor galleries feature rotating art exhibitions often including rare pieces on loan from museums and private collections worldwide.
Currently on view through April 20, The Genius of Archer Milton Huntington exhibition delves into the visionary life and legacy of one of Brookgreen’s founders, and features rarely exhibited objects and images from The Hispanic Society of America in New York City, The Mariners Museum in Newport News, Va., the Chair of Poetry at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. and the American Numismatic Society in New York City, in addition to Brookgreen Gardens.
