The Charleston Police Department said it is investigating a homicide that occurred tonight on Ashley Avenue near Race Street. Officers were dispatched to a shooting on Ashley Avenue around 6:45 p.m. and located one adult victim deceased at the scene.
Ashley Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic between Congress St and Race St for several hours.
