Residents, visitors and friends of Folly Beach are invited to give back to the island during Toby's Labor of Love Litter Sweep on Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Second Beach East Access.
Held in partnership with the City of Folly Beach, South Carolina Aquarium and American Shore & Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA), the community cleanup will bring volunteers together to remove litter from the beach and nearby roadsides while helping protect Folly Beach and the surrounding coastal environment. Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to participate.
“Folly Beach is a special place because of the people who care about it, whether they live here, work here or return year after year,” event organizers said. “Toby's Labor of Love is an opportunity for everyone to come together, lend a hand, and make a visible difference for our beach and ocean.”
Following the cleanup, participants will receive a wristband for taking part in the litter sweep. The wristband can be shown at participating Folly Beach businesses from 6 to 8 p.m. to receive special offers, including 15% off the food menu at Rita's Seaside Grille, 15% off drinks at Roasted Marketplace and 20% off a Starfire Golf Cart Rentals rental with the code Toby20.
Volunteers are encouraged to register in advance and join fellow community members in showing Folly Beach a little extra love this Labor Day.
