The Gilded Grasshopper, a woman-owned lifestyle brand known for mahjong-inspired table skirts, today announced the launch of the Limited-Edition Holiday Collection, featuring four exclusive new prints in rich velvet with lush, stylized blooms, curling vines, and saturated jewel tones for a bold, sophisticated look.
Meet Nancy. She’s bold, she’s gold, and knows how to make a statement.
Jackie Rice Abston is the founder of The Happy Southerner, a boutique gift shop in Charleston, SC that carries The Gilded Grasshopper table skirts, said the designs immediately resonated with customers.
“The moment I saw Lauren’s table skirts, I fell in love with their bright, beautiful botanicals and knew our customers would feel the same,” said Abston. “They strike that rare balance of effortless practicality and refined charm, instantly transforming any table into a warm, inviting space—something her new holiday collection does beautifully. With rich jewel tones and exquisite florals on luscious velvet, I have no doubt it will be a customer favorite.”
Meet Kimberly. She’s classic, she’s colorful, and always ready to host.
Kristin Gee, founder of Mahjongee, a Charleston-based brand offering thoughtfully created mahjong products and experiences, praised Davis’s creativity and connection to the local mahjong community.
"There’s an amazing mahjong community here in Charleston, and Lauren is one of the people who truly stands out,” said Gee, who also founded the Mount Pleasant Mahjong Club. “As a fellow entrepreneur, I admire her inspiration and passion for creating something beautiful from something she loves. Our members can’t get enough of her designs—they’re simple yet sophisticated, bold but balanced.”
Meet Katherine. She’s regal, she’s refined, and welcomes you to stay.
Designed to fit a standard-sized square folding table, the full-length table skirts are crafted from 100% double-layered velvet and measure 35" L x 35" W x 28.5" H. Fully pleated for a clean, refined look, each piece is thoughtfully designed with a split drop on each side for effortless legroom as well as a hidden top sleeve to conceal a mahjong mat for a more polished playing surface. The table skirts also accommodate similarly sized square tables and pair beautifully with existing mahjong mats for players who prefer to keep their mats visible during play.
Meet Dolly. She's bright, she’s beautiful, and loves to entertain.
“The holidays are a time for gathering, celebrating, and giving thanks,” said Lauren Davis, founder of The Gilded Grasshopper. “In the South, they’re made even more special by an evergreen landscape dotted with brilliant blooms throughout the year. That beautiful contrast—the richness of the greenery, the vibrancy of the flowers, and the comfort of coming together—inspired a collection designed to bring warmth and elegance to every tablescape this holiday season.”
The Gilded Grasshopper will also debut a new seasonal collection in the coming weeks. “Our upcoming Autumn/Winter Collection will feature four new block print designs with vining florals and a botanical palette,” Davis continued. “With crisp neutrals and cooler undertones, the collection reflects the spirit of the season, setting the scene for relaxed entertaining and joyful memories.”
