Parents across the Lowcountry will soon have a new way to shop for baby essentials as Target rolls out a redesigned baby shopping experience at select stores across the country, including one location serving the Charleston region.
The Target store in Summerville is among nearly 200 stores nationwide debuting the company’s new “Baby Boutique,” a dedicated shopping space designed to simplify the process of researching and purchasing baby products.
The rollout comes as retailers respond to changing shopping habits among new parents. According to Target, parents now spend more than three times longer researching baby products than any other retail category, and more than half say buying major items such as strollers, car seats, and monitors can feel overwhelming.
The Baby Boutique concept aims to address that challenge by creating a more interactive shopping environment where parents can see, touch, and compare baby gear in person before making major purchases.
The updated experience will feature nearly 2,000 new baby items, including premium brands such as UPPAbaby, Bugaboo, Stokke, and Doona, many of which are appearing at Target for the first time. The company says the expanded assortment will help make higher-end baby gear more accessible to families.
In addition to big-ticket gear, Target is also introducing a “Baby Concierge” service, offering free appointment-based consultations where parents can receive personalized guidance when selecting items like car seats, strollers, monitors, and other baby essentials.
The expansion also includes new wellness-focused baby products and national brands such as Joie, Nanit, Amara, Tubby Todd, and Little Spoon, alongside expanded offerings from Target-owned brands.
The changes are designed to make the baby shopping experience feel less stressful and more supportive for families navigating one of life’s biggest milestones.
For Lowcountry families interested in exploring the new concept, the Baby Boutique experience is rolling out at the Target store located at 450 Azalea Square Blvd in Summerville, one of several locations in South Carolina participating in the launch this month.
