Personal finance website WalletHub today released a report on States Where People Spend the Most & Least on Hair Care and South Carolina was listed as the state that spends the 4th Highest Percentage.
To determine where Americans are paying the most for hair care, WalletHub analyzed the prices of men’s barbershop haircuts and women’s beauty salon visits in each of the 50 states, then compared them to the median household income.
Hair Care Spending in South Carolina (1=Most Expensive; 25=Avg.):
- Average Cost of Hair Care*: $81.91
- Average Cost of Hair Care* as % of Median Monthly Household Income: 1.47%
- 18th – Average Price of a Men’s Barbershop Haircut
- 18th – Average Price of a Women’s Shampoo, Trim and Blow-Dry
*Hair care refers to a men’s barbershop haircut and a women’s shampoo, trim and blow-dry.
