Personal finance website WalletHub today released a report on Happiest States in America in 2024 and South Carolina was ranked as being the 11th happiest in the country.
To come up with the ranking, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 30 key indicators of happiness. The data set ranges from the depression rate and the share of adults feeling productive to income growth and the unemployment rate.
Happiness in South Carolina (1=Happiest; 25=Avg.):
- Overall Rank: 11th
- 17th – % of Depressed Adults
- 26th – Adequate-Sleep Rate
- 22nd – Suicide Rate
- 28th – % of Civilian Labor Force Unemployed 15 Weeks or Longer
- 30th – Separation & Divorce Rate
- 15th – Income Growth
