WalletHub recently released its study on 2025's Best & Worst States for Singles and South Carolina ranked as the 9th WORST in the country. This is a slight fall for the Palmetto State, which ranked better last year.
To create the rankings, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 29 key indicators of dating-friendliness. The data set ranges from the share of single adults to the unemployment rate for singles to the number of restaurants per capita.
Dating in South Carolina (1=Best; 25=Avg.):

- 35th – % of Single Adults
- 30th – Gender Balance of Singles
- 37th – Online-Dating Opportunities
- 22nd – Mobile-Dating Opportunities
- 34th – Median Annual Household Income (Adjusted for Cost of Living)
- 18th – Restaurants per Capita
- 46th – Movie Theaters per Capita
- 41st – Crime Rate
