JOHNS ISLAND - Sea Island Habitat for Humanity is proud to announce Women Build Week presented by Publix Super Market Charities, taking place February 23–28, 2026, on a new home build site on Johns Island. This week-long event brings together women and allies from across the community to raise walls, build strength, and create lasting impact for a local family.
Women Build Week is more than a construction event, it is a powerful opportunity to bring the community together while fundraising to cover the cost of all building supplies needed to complete the home. Funds raised through registration and sponsorships support materials such as lumber, roofing, drywall, and fixtures, ensuring the project can move forward without financial barriers.
No construction experience is required. Volunteers of all skill levels are welcome and will work alongside Sea Island Habitat staff and experienced crew leaders. Whether participants are swinging a hammer for the first time or returning to the build site, Women Build Week offers a meaningful way to learn new skills while making a tangible difference.
“Women Build Week empowers individuals to step outside their comfort zones, work side-by-side with neighbors, and help provide safe, affordable housing in our community,” said Emily Speck, Director of Development. “With the generous support of Publix Super Market Charities and many of our other sponsors, this event will directly impact a Johns Island family and strengthen our mission.”
Registration is now open, and individuals are encouraged to sign up early, as space is limited. Participants may register as individuals or with a group and will receive guidance on fundraising and volunteer preparation.
