The International African American Museum (IAAM) is excited to announce the launch of its 2025 summer programs, offering enriching experiences for both adolescent youth and college students alike. This summer, participants can immerse themselves in history, culture, and community with the “Full Op Wid Joy” Summer Camp for ages 8 to 14 years old, or IAAM’s collegiate opportunity with our Sankofa Fellowship.
“Full Op Wid Joy” Summer Camp: Celebrating Gullah Geechee Resilience and Joy
From June 23 to July 18, 2025, children ages 8 to 14 are invited to participate in the IAAM’s “Full Op Wid Joy” Summer Camp. Inspired by the Gullah Geechee tradition of resilience and well-being, this camp offers weekly themed experiences designed to foster creativity, exploration, and joy.
“We’re building more than memories—we’re nurturing identity and curiosity,” said Jessica Amaro, IAAM’s Summer Camp Manager. “Each week we will invite our campers to explore culture, history, and nature in ways that are grounded, joyful, and deeply meaningful.”
