Palmetto Hope Network, in partnership with the North Charleston Community Resource Center, will host a Community Food Drive on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 1 p.m. at 3947 Whipper Barony Lane in North Charleston. The event will continue until food runs out and is open to anyone in need.
The food drive aims to raise awareness of domestic violence and provide immediate support to local families. In addition to distributing food, the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Victim Advocates will be on-site to offer resources, answer questions, and connect individuals to support services for survivors of domestic violence.
The location is easily accessible by public transportation, just a few blocks from the Rivers Avenue and Verde Avenue bus stop, ensuring that anyone in need can attend.
“Food insecurity and domestic violence often intersect in ways that make it harder for survivors to leave unsafe situations,” said Lisa Kennedy, Victim Advocate with Palmetto Hope Network. “By meeting immediate needs and connecting people to local resources, we’re working to create safer, more stable pathways for families in crisis.”
The event underscores Palmetto Hope Network’s ongoing commitment to serving survivors and families through community partnerships, advocacy, and direct support.
