Mary Martin Gallery is delighted to present “Modern Impressionism”, a mesmerizing exhibition by renowned artist Samir Sammoun. This show marks a momentous occasion as Sammoun’s masterpieces are officially introduced to the collectors and guests of Mary Martin Gallery.
Inspired by the timeless beauty of nature, Sammoun’s signature piece in “Modern Impressionism” is his critically acclaimed masterpiece titled “Walking with Giants'', a 30 x 40 oil on canvas painting. Sammoun’s Walking with Giants series was chosen by Fine Art Magazine and Victor Forbes, editor-in-chief of Fine Art Magazine, suggested that Sammoun is “walking with giants'', referring to the great impressionists of the art world.
Samir Sammoun was born August 10, 1952, in a quaint Lebanese village perched atop the Chouf Mountain, 40 km south of Beirut. To this day, he vividly recalls the colorful Mediterranean landscape of his childhood. Sammoun emigrated from Lebanon to Canada at age 21 where he obtained degrees in electronic engineering and telecommunications. Since graduation, he has pursued his professional career and life’s passion, painting. Sammoun was able to develop his art over the past 40 years. The evolution of his style is influenced by all the wonderful places he has visited and the emotions that he uses his artwork to convey and bring to life.
Sammoun’s distinctive artistic approach, a fusion of modern techniques and classical impressionism, breathes life into canvases, capturing the essence of landscapes with vibrant hues and dynamic brushstrokes. Each piece tells a unique story, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the tranquility and magnificence of his world.
The opening reception for “Modern Impressionism” will take place on December 1st, from 5 pm to 8 pm at Mary Martin Gallery, 103 Broad Street, Charleston. Samir Sammoun is represented by Mary Martin Gallery and will be in attendance to greet the public for the opening reception.
