Live Oak Charleston, a new lifestyle hotel rooted in wellness, design, and a strong sense of place, is slated to open in April 2026 on Meeting Street in downtown Charleston. The 120-room boutique property will debut as Charleston’s first and only Tribute Portfolio hotel and will feature modern design elements and elevated amenities that complement the city’s rich architectural and cultural heritage.
Drawing inspiration from Charleston’s natural beauty, Live Oak Charleston’s light-filled guestrooms and three suites will be accented with natural wood finishes and calming, organic textures. Adding to the elevated experience, five exclusive pool patio rooms will offer direct access to the hotel’s heated outdoor saltwater pool, with private terraces and plush daybeds, transforming Live Oak into a resort-style retreat — a rare and highly unique offering within the Historic District.
Food and beverage will serve as a defining pillar of the Live Oak guest experience. Terra, the hotel’s signature restaurant, will be led by Executive Chef Eucepe Puntriano, formerly of Charleston’s well-regarded Marbled & Fin, and will showcase a menu inspired by the Lowcountry and informed by Mediterranean culinary traditions. Featuring the flavors of Spain, Morocco, Israel, and Greece, the restaurant will highlight locally sourced Southern ingredients through a globally influenced lens. The hotel will also be home to Bloo Pool & Provisions, a relaxed poolside bar and lounge designed for casual dining with a Nikkei-influenced menu and daytime service.
A comprehensive menu of wellness amenities will further solidify Live Oak as a leading lifestyle hotel in Charleston’s Historic District. Highlights include a sophisticated pool bar and lounge with cabanas and daybeds, as well as a state-of-the-art fitness center. These elements were designed to support a balanced, intentional, and restorative stay for both leisure and business travelers.
“We wanted to create a hotel that blends everything people love about Charleston — great food and attentive hospitality — with modern touches like poolside retreats, wellness amenities, and globally inspired flavors,” said Kris Betz, general manager at Live Oak Charleston. “It’s a place that feels like the city you know, but with fresh experiences you can only find here.”
The hotel’s central location on Meeting Street places guests steps from Charleston’s renowned dining scene, boutiques, and cultural landmarks, offering immediate access to the city’s famed cobblestone streets, iconic architecture, and unmistakable sense of place. With its refined design, curated culinary program, and emphasis on well-being, Live Oak Charleston is poised to become a distinctive home base for visitors to explore, relax, and immerse themselves in the city’s unique charm.
