Charleston Animal Society has launched its ambitious "250 for 250" adoption campaign, with the goal of finding loving homes for 250 animals in celebration of the United States' 250th anniversary.
“We have set a community-wide goal to find loving homes for 250 animals, encouraging everyone to mark America’s 250th anniversary by giving a second chance to a shelter animal,” said Charleston Animal Society Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Aldwin Roman, CAWA. “As your pet grows, you will always remember the year you adopted him or her.”
To celebrate the milestone and make pet ownership more accessible, Charleston Animal Society is reducing adoption fees for all animals except puppies to $25 through July 3.
All adoptable animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and behavior-tested before going home.
“As our nation looks back on 250 years of history, we want to look forward by saving 250 lives right here in our community,” Roman said. “This campaign includes animals at both of our campuses.”
