Hollywood, SC - Make a splash to support more than 200 animals who call Hallie Hill home during the Laps for Love fundraising event on Saturday, August 2. The annual fundraiser, sponsored by West Ashley Veterinary Clinic, Crews Subaru, and Sly Penguin, aims to raise $35,000 for the medical needs of animals at Hallie Hill.
Starting at 6:30 a.m., participating swimmers will compete in either a two-hour, 200-lap swim or a one-hour, 100-lap swim to raise funds to cover everything from food and shelter to medical procedures for the animals at Hallie Hill. The community is encouraged to show support on halliehill.com/laps-for-
All funds raised will go to ensuring the health and comfort of our sanctuary animals like Bodean and Machu and her kittens. Bodean is a sweet hound who came to Hallie Hill from a foster-based rescue where he didn't thrive to his fullest potential. Realizing he wasn't quite ready to live inside a home, he was brought here where he now explores until his heart's content and he is ready for a home. Machu and her kittens, who were only six weeks old at the time, were found wandering as strays before being brought to Hallie Hill. At Hallie Hill, they were provided with nutritious food, veterinary care, and a loving environment where Machu could give her full attention to her babies. Now, Machu's kittens-- Picchu, Rainer, Sierra, and Everest-- have all found loving homes. Although we cannot change their past, we can rewrite their future.
