Croghan’s Jewel Box, Charleston’s oldest family-owned jewelry store and a fixture on King Street since 1907, today announced its relocation to a new, larger storefront at 155 King Street, just a few blocks south of its original home.
Founded by master jeweler and hand engraver William Joseph Croghan, Croghan’s Jewel Box has been in the care of his descendants for generations. Today, third-generation sisters Mariana Ramsay Hay and Rhett Ramsay Outten lead the business alongside their fourth-generation family members Kathleen Hay Hagood, Mini Hay Avant, and Mikell Hay.
“We’ve always believed in infusing beauty into people’s lives—whether through a treasured heirloom or a piece that celebrates a meaningful moment,” said Outten. “Our move to 155 King Street allows us to continue doing what we love in a space that reflects who we are and where we’re going.”
Croghan’s new 6,000-square-foot, two-story flagship is located on King Street near the corner of Queen Street in the heart of the historic district.
“This expansion is a testament to our family's enduring commitment to Charleston,” added Hay. “We’re thrilled to welcome both longtime patrons and new visitors into our new home with the same warmth and quality that have defined Croghan’s for over a century.”
The new location boasts an expanded showroom featuring antique, estate, and contemporary collections, including the in-house Croghan’s Exclusives and fourth-generation Mini Hay Avant’s jewelry designs: the Goldbug Collection and the Mini Collection of exclusive fine jewelry pieces. There are also dedicated areas for custom design and jewelry repair.
You can visit the new location at 155 King Street during the following hours:
- Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- They are closed on Sunday
