Personal finance website WalletHub today released a report on “2025's Happiest Cities in America,” and Charleston ranked as being the 14th happiest.
To identify the happiest cities, WalletHub compared more than 180 of the largest U.S. cities across 29 key indicators of happiness. The data set ranges from the depression rate to the income-growth rate to the average leisure time spent per day.
Happiness in Charleston (1=Happiest, 91=Avg.):

- 68th – Depression Rate
- 13th – Adequate-Sleep Rate
- 13th – Sports-Participation Rate
- 83rd – Unemployment Rate
- 45th – Separation & Divorce Rate
- 40th – Income Growth Rate
