Personal finance website WalletHub today released a report on “Best Cities to Start a Career In" and Charleston ranked as being the 6th best.
To help recent graduates launch their careers in the right place, WalletHub compared more than 180 U.S. cities based on 25 key indicators of career-friendliness. The data set ranges from the availability of entry-level jobs to monthly average starting salary to housing affordability.
Starting Your Career in Charleston (1=Best; 91=Avg.):
- Overall Rank: 6th
- 44th – Projected Population Growth (2046 vs. 2016)
- 79th – Monthly Avg. Starting Salary (Adjusted for Cost of Living)
- 13th – Entry-Level Jobs per 100,000 Working-Age Population
- 31st – Unemployment Rate
- 16th – % of Adults Ages 25+ with at Least a Bachelor’s Degree
