Beemok Capital announced that InvestSC will match all qualified investments made in the Catalyst by Beemok pitch competition, doubling the total potential funding available to this year’s finalists.
The match will be announced live at the Catalyst by Beemok Live Pitch Competition on Saturday, November 8 at Union Pier in Charleston, where 13 early-stage companies, 10 professional and three student finalists, will take the stage to pitch for investments totaling up to $1 million.
“We’re excited to showcase the founders participating in Catalyst’s inaugural competition,” said Ben Navarro, Co-Founder of Beemok Capital. “These finalists are building innovative, high-potential companies in the Lowcountry, and we’re thrilled that InvestSC is stepping forward to accelerate their growth alongside us.”
“Our goal is to expand access to early-stage capital for entrepreneurs across South Carolina,” said Will Cruz, Chief Investment Officer at InvestSC. “Catalyst finalists represent the future of the state’s innovation economy and we’re excited to support them with meaningful investment.”
Finalists were selected from 256 applications across Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester counties, and reflect a diverse cross-section of sectors, from electric boats and biotechnology to food innovation and workforce technology.
