In honor of co-owner Kathryn McCool-Manglani's "Cancerversary"—the anniversary of her final chemotherapy treatment—Uncork Charleston is raising a glass to survival and giving back. The wine bar will donate 50% of all Italian wine proceeds sold from Wednesday, April 30, through Sunday, May 4, to Stupid Cancer, a nonprofit supporting teens and young adults navigating cancer.
McCool-Manglani, who was diagnosed with lymphoma during her junior year of college, knows firsthand the awkward and isolating experience of facing cancer at a young age. This initiative marks a personal milestone and highlights Uncork's commitment to supporting the next generation of survivors.
Why Italian Wine? McCool-Manglani (pictured) says her first post-treatment trip was a life-changing wine tour through Italy with her mother, celebrating a return to normalcy.
Stupid Cancer is a leading nonprofit supporting adolescents and young adults affected by cancer, offering community, advocacy, and critical resources during and after treatment.
Uncork Charleston can be found at 476 King Street.
