A new tradition is coming to the Lowcountry. On Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, the inaugural Summerville Wine & Food Festival will welcome guests for an afternoon celebrating wine, chef-driven cuisine, live music and community in the heart of Nexton.
The festival is intended to become an annual celebration of the region's food, wine and hospitality culture.
Festival attendees can sample wines from eight featured wineries, including Duckhorn Vineyards, Orin Swift Cellars, Jackson Family Wines, Banfi, Famille Perrin, Familia Torres, Robert Hall Winery and Wine Water. Guests canenjoy wines from Napa Valley, Sonoma County, Paso Robles, Tuscany, Spain's Penedès region and France's Rhône Valley. Guests who discover a new favorite will also have the opportunity to purchase featured wines to enjoy at home.
Executive Chef Roger Thomas of The Pickle Bar will lead the culinary program, joined by some other Lowcountry favorites, including Stephen Thompson, former executive chef of Dashi; Devin Spinelli, sous chef at Hege's Restaurant; Clayton Bowling, kitchen manager at The Pickle Bar; and additional chefs to be announced.
Throughout the afternoon, guests can enjoy complimentary chef tasting bites and can purchase full entrees from The Pickle Bar kitchen.
"Our vision is to create something that becomes part of the community," said Pat Duncan, founder of The Pickle Bar. "The Nexton Wine & Food Festival isn't about one afternoon; it's about creating an annual tradition people look forward to every fall that celebrates incredible food and wine, local culinary talent, and the people who make this community such a special place to live and work."
Early bird tickets are $55, with general admission available for $65. Admission includes a commemorative festival wine glass, 10 wine tasting tickets, six chef tasting tickets, live music and access to all festival experiences throughout the afternoon.
