The Knot Burger Pub is rallying the Lowcountry to fight food insecurity this holiday season with its largest community campaign yet — Every Double Makes a Difference — a two-month initiative combining weekly food drives, themed donation weeks, and local business–powered raffles. The campaign’s mission: to help fill blessing boxes, food banks, and households in need across Dorchester County.
From now through December, $1 from every Double Burchy Burger sold will be donated to local food assistance programs. The Knot is also hosting weekly themed food drives spotlighting specific needs such as pasta, breakfast items, soups, taco kits, and more. Community members are encouraged to bring in items each week, where they’ll also have the chance to win raffle prizes donated by local businesses.
“This town shows up for us every single day,” said Derek Burcham, owner of The Knot Burger Pub. “The least we can do is show up right back. When times get tough, small acts — a can of soup or a box of noodles — truly make an impact. We’re here to help make that impact bigger.”
To make giving even easier, The Knot has created an Amazon Wish List that allows supporters to ship items directly to the restaurant for distribution to local blessing boxes and families.
Weekly Themes Include:
- Let’s Taco ’Bout Kindness — Taco kits, rice, beans, salsa
- Send Noods — Pasta, ramen, mac and cheese
- Cereal-ously Good People — Breakfast items
- Souper Hero — Soup, chili, canned proteins
- Knead Some Love — Bread, muffin, and cornbread mixes
…and many more throughout November and December.
The Knot is inviting Summerville and Dorchester County businesses to partner by donating raffle items such as gift cards, merchandise, or small branded items to encourage participation. These donations will be used in weekly giveaway baskets celebrating local businesses that give back.
“This drive isn’t just about collecting food,” said Dinah Yo, co-owner of The Knot Burger Pub. “It’s about showing that when local businesses team up, we can lift our whole community.”
