The Chef Aquatic will host “Seasons of the Soul,” an intimate four-course wine pairing dinner celebrating Charleston’s autumn harvest, on Friday, Nov. 8, at the Frederic Payet Gallery, 13 Broad St.
Curated by Chef Madi Wist of Salt + Savor, the menu highlights seasonal local ingredients and seafood, including earthy root vegetables, roasted mushrooms, and vibrant citrus. Each course is paired with French wines selected by Sommelier Latasha Williams of Fermented Vines, whose expertise enhances the evening’s flavors.
“This dinner is about connection — between food, art, and the people who bring them to life,” said Chef Tina McCard of The Chef Aquatic. “It’s a soulful expression of the season, rooted in Charleston’s abundance and elevated by the spirit of southern hospitality.”
The gallery will be transformed into a candlelit, earthy setting by Traci Colyer of Salvaged South and Angela Colyer Dupree of Hospitality Revival, featuring natural linens, seasonal décor, and local greenery. Guests will dine surrounded by the art of Frederic Payet and the current exhibit by Athlone Clarke of Spanish Town, Jamaica, who will attend to share insights into his creative process.
