The award-winning, woman-owned Striped Pig Distillery, Charleston’s first distillery since prohibition, today announced a Bourbon Barrel Beer Release Party to mark the official release of “BBB,” a one of a kind bourbon barrel aged beer made in collaboration with Ghost Monkey Brewery. In addition, a Taproom Takeover was announced as Ghost Monkey prepares to relocate next door to Striped Pig in the coming months.
BBB is a blonde stout crafted by Ghost Monkey Brewery that has been aged for 18 months in Striped Pig Distillery Bourbon Barrels. Only 99 bottles of BBB will be available for purchase at the Release Party, and a limited supply of the beer will be available on draft until it runs out.
The Release Party will take place at Striped Pig Distillery on Saturday, May 25th from 2 pm to 7 pm. In addition to beer and cocktails, attendees can enjoy live music and food from Big Boned BBQ (2 pm to 6 pm) and Dolce Vita Ice Cream Sandwiches (3 pm to 7 pm).
General admission to the event is free. VIP admission is $20 and includes a bottle of the limited edition beer for those who wish to ensure they snag one. In line with Striped Pig’s community giving platform, Sip & Share, $2 for every bottle sold at the event will benefit the non-profit MiniSkirt, whose mission is to empower young women aged 14-24 to achieve personal and professional success through a targeted mentoring program where tenured, mature women are matched to young women to act as a sounding board and help them make wise decisions and avoid common mistakes and pitfalls.

Following the news that the building that has been home to Ghost Monkey Brewery since its inception would be sold, the brewery decided to relocate next to Striped Pig. The release party will also be the official launch of the Taproom Takeover.
“We’ve loved all of our collaborations with Ghost Monkey Brewery," the team at Striped Pig said. "We’re over the moon to feature Ghost Monkey beers with a Taproom Takeover, as they make the transition to their new space next door, which we affectionately refer to as Ghost Monkey 2.0."
With the Taproom Takeover officially beginning at the BBB Release Party, guests will be able to select from 9 Ghost Monkey beers on tap in Striped Pig’s “Beer Alley,” where flights and growlers will also be available to purchase.
